郝继勇博士早年修读电脑，毕业后于香港及加拿大商界从事资讯科技工作，期间曾离开职场两年，全时间到美国三一神学院进修辅导及神学课程；1986年开始全职牧会，1994年再度前往美加深造，先后获安省神学院道学硕士及福乐神学院教牧学博士学位，专注于门徒训练方面的研究，其博士论文即探讨如何透过小组事工进行门训。

郝博士于2005年1月加入本院教授团的行列，对装备未来的传道人向有负担，乐于把多年的牧会经验及事奉心得当作活教材，与神学生分享，服侍他们。

郝博士现为灵光中文堂及英文堂顾问牧师，并宣道会康怡堂名誉牧师。师母李铭慈女士同于本院事奉，任职注册及学生事务主任。他们的两个女儿华华、恩恩，现正于海外求学及工作。

Rev Dr Joseph Kok Kai Yung is Associate Professor of Practical Studies at our school. Rev Kok was initially trained in computing, and previously worked in the corporate IT sectors in Hong Kong and Canada, within which he spent two years in full-time couselling and theological studies. In 1986, Rev Kok entered into full-time pastoral ministry, and shortly after returned to Hong Kong at the invitation of his home church North Point Alliance Church. In 1989, he and thirty others planted a new church, KornHill Alliance Church, where Rev Kok became the Senior Pastor. In 1994, Rev Kok returned to Toronto, Canada, for further studies, and pastored Zion Alliance Church there from 1995 to date.

Rev Kok is thankful to the Lord for giving him the opportunity to serve theological students, and hopes that his years of experience as pastor and ministry reflections will be of help in equipping future workers for the Lord. Rev Kok joined the faculty of our school from January 2005.

Rev Kok is married to Prisca Lee and has two daughters, Wawa and Phoebe.
